Mark Dickey-Collas
Mark Dickey-Collas (@DickeyCollas) is the ecosystem approach coordinator in the secretariat of ICES . He facilitates the development of the ecosystem approach for sustainable exploitation of the marine ecosystem and regional ecosystem assessments. Mark has 20 years experienced in providing fisheries and marine science advice to national and international institutions and has a particular expertise in pelagic fish and fisheries, having previously worked in national fisheries science laboratories in Northern Ireland and the Netherlands. Mark liaises with OSPAR , HELCOM, IUCN , FAO, DGENV, Arctic Council and the European Environment Agency on issues such as ecosystem assessment, data provision, Good Environmental Status (MSFD) , vulnerable species and impacts of fishing. His scientific experience is in the field of population dynamics, ecosystem modelling and the policy/science interface ResearcherID. Mark is a member of the IMBER science steering committee and member of the Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance WG on ecosystem based approach.
