1. Author(s) will receive an e-mail in which the submission of their manuscript is confirmed along with a reference number for their manuscript.
2. Guest editors will make a preliminary decision on whether the manuscript will be sent out for review. 3. Papers selected for review will be sent out to three independent reviewers.
4. The editorial decision will include at least two referee reports. In case of large differences in opinion between referees, the manuscript may be sent out for additional reviews.
5. Except for papers that are rejected, authors will be invited to present a revised version of their paper in which the comments raised by the reviewers are addressed.
6. Revised versions of manuscripts will generally be reviewed and dealt with by the guest editors although additional external reviewing may be considered in some cases.
7. Authors will receive the editorial decision of the guest editors.
8. Authors will receive the final decision by the editorial board of the Journal of Sea Research.
