Dr. Poos is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wageningen. He is interested in the exploitation dynamics of flatfish stocks in mixed fisheries that are shaped not only by the biology of these stocks, but also by the decisions of the fishers fishing for them. In making choices about where, when, and how to fish, these fishers ultimately shape the productivity of the fish stocks that they exploit. Dr. Poos tries to look at these fisheries from different angles, while simultaneously thinking about how to make the best use of the data that can be collected from them. Further, he works collaboratively with applied researchers who face the challenge of providing advice for sustainable use of flatfish stocks.
