Dr. Manuel Manchado is a tenure researcher in the Andalusian Research and Training Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Ecological Food Production (IFAPA, Spain). His research focuses mainly on the optimization of management and protocols for sole aquaculture from breeders to juveniles. In collaboration with the industry, he manages genetic breeding programs and the application of genomic markers to selection. Moreover, he works in preprogramming strategies to modify the potential of early larval stages to be exploited in aquaculture and its impact in production cycles. He has participated to and coordinated several national and European/International projects for sole genomics using next-generation technologies. He participates in the European innovation network Algae4A&B to find new applications of microalgae in aquaculture and cosmetics. He is member of the commission for Excellence Campus CeiMar.
