Josianne G. Støttrup
Josianne G. Støttrup is a senior research scientist and science coordinator for the research area Marine Habitats at the Danish Technical University, National Institute of Aquatic Resources. Dr. J. Støttrup started out on aquaculture working with marine fish larval nutrition and the use of copepods as live prey and moved on to lead and coordinate the stock enhancement and restocking program in 1994. The research area now covers structure and function of coastal habitats, coastal fish population dynamics, recreational and coastal commercial fisheries as well as Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) and Systems Approach in management. With this scientific background, J. Støttrup provides science-based advice for coastal recreational fisheries and impact of human activities other than fisheries on coastal systems. J. Støttrup has also chaired ICES working groups as well as science committees for conferences related to stocking and ICM and fish habitats/flatfish. Furthermore, J. Støttrup has led or participated in a leading role in larger EU projects related to stocking, fish habitats, ICM and Systems Approach.
